9 titles from Michael's "Music for String Orchestra" series have recently been published by Jayday Music. The remaining titles will be published early 2007 by Dynamic Publishing.

Michael Stocks & Bill Myers are once again combining their musical passion to offer a new CD "The Rules Have Changed". Currently in production this CD is a musical canvas that portrays the creative drive, and diverse musical interests of two of Tasmania's fine musicians. This collection of original compositions and arrangements of familiar pieces melds many genres and presents some dramatic new approaches to classical & irish violin playing.

After many hours of collaborative writing and production with co-arranger / producer Bill Myers the material chosen for the CD has undergone many transformations and arrangement changes.
 
"The Rules Have Changed" has been a long term project between Bill and Michael. Having opted to write, record and produce the entire project themselves, this really is a musical journey through the minds of both these talented musicians. With tracks ranging from piano & violin ballads to fully orchestrated arrangements based on familiar themes, and even stretching into the realms of electronic music & rock, there will be something for many musical tastes on this CD.
 
Michael has long been using technology in a field of music commonly seen as very traditional. He plays a brilliant white electric violin on stage, and utilises many digital effects commonly thought of as only suited for electric guitar. While working with Bill on this CD technology has changed and developed time & time again, allowing both the players to have within their reach some the most state of the art recording and composing tools on the planet. To that end this has resulted in almost constant reassessment of the format and quality of the project, and the pushing forward of many ideas to the limits of creative manipulation!
 
“This project has become a labour of love to us. It has such a deep involvement from us both that it really will give the listener a very small taste of our diverse musical tastes!” says Bill of the new CD. “Working with Michael has been fantastic, we have not only created something we are both immensely proud of, but have become the best of friends while doing so!”

Also in production is a 2nd CD 'It is Time'. This CD features beautiful ballads as well as lively Hungarian style dances, and is sure to appeal to listeners of all ages.

The release date for both CD's will be late 2007.
